Support RobotsMali STEM Champions

Since 2017, RobotsMali has trained robotic teams from Malian colleges, high schools and universities, winning 35 medals in international robotics competitions. Despite the many challenges that Malians face, RobotsMali has made the country a robotic power and inspired thousands of Malian children to pursue STEM careers and work for the development of their nation. Malian teams crossed West Africa by bus to participate in each edition of the Pan-African Robotics Competition (PARC). African roads are always an adventure in themselves. For example, in 2019, teams spent 3 days on a bus to get to Accra, Ghana, hampered by mud and a broken transmission. Despite their exhausting course, they still won 3 medals.

This year, four Malian teams are preparing to travel to Dakar, Senegal, for the 7th edition of the PARC, from 24 to 28 July.

This year, Malian teams are particularly confronted with power cuts that last 12 hours in a row, exceptional heat and inability to secure local funding due to the economic impact of the difficult situation. These problems have not discouraged children, they always find ways to do their job and achieve exceptional performances. We are looking for support to bring 30 children and coaches to Senegal this year, covering transportation, meals and expenses related to the creation, programming and testing of their robots.

RobotsMali is a local program that has changed the lives of thousands of Malian children, giving them the tools to build a better future for themselves, for the country and for the world. In addition to training Africa's most successful robotic teams, RobotsMali runs STEM education programs throughout the year and runs an artificial intelligence for development laboratory that explores the uses of artificial intelligence that can promote economic and social development in Mali.
