One of the missions of the Department of Innovation and Scientific Research is to work tirelessly to promote scientific culture. In line with this direction, the Department organized aandas at 3 December 2016, 1reedition of Science Day. This edition serves a real space of exchange, of popular science and reflection, in order to formulate concrete proposals to attract more students and students to the sciences. In this context and in collaboration with EMMME, Education for a Modern World Mali Emergent (RobotsMali),
The Ministerial Department launched a series of activities on robotics, held on 18 March 2017, at the City of Children of Bamako. The aim was to train and involve young people from Mali in the robotics competitions held in Dakar from 11 to 13 May 2017 for the PARC (Panafrican Robotic Competition) and then in the United States from 16 to 18 July 2017.
Students were contacted through their schools, CAPs and the Academies of Education. These schools have offered students, subject to their consent
A committee set up for this purpose selected the best on the basis of established criteria. About 20 students from the Fundamental level (2eand about 20 of the high school level were selected. The official launch of the training took place at the Cité des Enfants on Saturday 18 March 2017. The pre-selected students took accelerated training for four months in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). They learned how to use Mathematics, Physics and Programming to assemble robots to make them work. The Malian team was trained for the various competitions at EMMME.
African Robotic Competition in Dakar
The team selected to participate in the Dakar competition started at the Ministry of Innovation and Scientific Research on 13 May 2017, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Department, Drissa Diallo, and several other members of the Cabinet.
